Deep Biswas

Director of Economics (Interim)

Deep is our Interim Director of Economics with extensive experience in development economics, international diplomacy and strategy development. Before joining Bradshaw, he served as a Special Adviser and Harvard Business School Leadership Fellow in the City of Boston. In this capacity, he co-created innovative public policy to stimulate housing development, such as providing tax reliefs and incentives for property developers to convert vacant office buildings into residential use.

Previously, Deep was a Development Economist and Diplomat for the UK government, with roles at the Department for International Development (DFID) and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). He represented the UK at the World Trade Organization, worked as the UK’s World Bank Economist in Development Finance, and led business planning for the newly formed FCDO, where he played a key role in restructuring over £8 billion in aid—a contribution that earned him multiple Civil Service Awards. His diplomatic experience includes postings at the British High Commission in Tanzania and advisory roles across Africa.

In addition to his public sector experience, Deep has worked in strategy consulting, tech venture capital and tech product management. He is a graduate of the Civil Service Fast Stream and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge, and a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Warwick.
