The rise of Africa in the coming decades
By 2100, 8 out of 10 people in the world are expected to live in Asia or Africa with Europe the only region where the population is expected to fall - from around 750m today to 630m.
Africa in particular is expected to see transformational growth. Today Africa has just over 17% of the global population; by 2100 this is projected to rise to 40% presenting a major potential trade opportunity for the UK and business.
